Caithness Renewables carries out a variety of development support, notably for renewable energy related work including for developers, community groups, enterprise agencies and local authorities. MTSS Ltd and Caithness Renewables Ltd have worked together on a number of assignments and continue to target opportunities together in the maritime sector.
Cell Consulting Ltd (UK) was established by James Pratt in 2011 and provides financial modelling and financial analysis support to change programmes in the health and local government sectors. CELL consulting develops models as tools to help clients frame their thinking and break problems down to smaller component parts, thus assisting clients in understanding the financial impacts of change and developing evidence based financial cases.
Douglas Binns (UK) provides civil engineering expertise on a variety of rail projects from feasibility to implementation stages. The projects range from a study into the provision of a new freight facility on a rural line to working as the client’s civil engineer on the design and construction of new platforms within major terminal stations. Actively working with other disciplines and working safely in close proximity to the public and live railway have been key aspects of many of the projects.
Drennan Marine Consultancy Ltd (UK) specialises in adding value to port development projects through the provision of marine operational and navigational advice such as site selection studies; port layout optimisation; marine risk assessment; channel / turning circle design; and the commissioning / project management of ship manoeuvring simulations. DMC has worked previously with MTSS and its’ associates / clients, most recently on the European Commission study to consider better use of Pilotage Exception Certificates (PECs).

He has 18 years consultancy experience, having worked for both big and small consultancy practices. Prior to establishing Reference in 2004, he worked at Highlands & Islands Enterprise.
